Run to Dublin: How we are doing it…

For the past three weeks we have been running to Dublin. Everyday, we have been running laps around the school front yard. Book Week!

Room 15 doing paired reading with 6th class (room 1) to celebrate Book Week in our school.


We are participating in RTÉ Operation Transformation’s 10@10. Classes are encouraged to do some physical activity for 10 minutes each day.   “Don’t just sit, Go get fit” Pictured are Room 15!

Cross Country

  Mrs. Dooley, Ms. Gill and Mr. Dooley have taken charge of our cross country team. They have had great interest and attendance at training and a team will be picked to represent our school in the cross-country competition in Hawkfield next month. Well done and best of luck to all involved.    

Polar Projects!

Room 15 have been very interested in learning about the Polar regions lately. In fact, such was the thirst for knowledge about the ice caps and what could survive there, it prompted us to engage in some research on the school ipads and produce some wonderful mini Polar projects for display in our classroom. Here is a selection of what we did:  

Let’s Get Active!

As part of our Active Schools Flag, we are trying to encourage our senior classes to “Walk while you Talk” at break times. Children are being encouraged to move as they are chatting at break times. Don’t just sit, go and get fit”

RSA Talk: Room 15

The RSA came to teach the children about road safety and the safe cross code. The children got to practice their road safety knowledge on the “village” that the coordinators had brought along for the day.  We all had great fun and came away with our road safety license. Well done to Room 15!
