Active Schools Week 2016

Everyone at St. Conleth and Mary’s enjoyed a stunning Active School’s Week earlier this month. It was a welcome break from the books particularly as the weather decided to be so kind to us for a week jam packed with activity.

We started our week with our annual Teacher Vs Student match in the Patrician field. It was hotly contested with the teachers taking home their very first win.

A blistering sun smiled down on us for our Sports Day. As always, a favourite of all involved, everyone got a chance to try a variety of sports and activities for the whole day. I can safely say every pupil and teacher slept well that night!

We had GAA and frisbee coaching during the week and classes attended timetable slots to practice new and old skills.

Our week ended with an almighty dance off in the front yard where seniors took up the challenge from the junior end of the school. Tying in with our Silly Shoe Day, it was a fantastic contest with every student pulling out their very best moves. So good were both groups, that an overall winner could not be declared. Both senior and junior got their just rewards for their brilliant participation… an ice cream party!!!! 😊

Thank you to everyone involved in making Active Schools Week such a success. To the staff , for their cooperation and energy, and the students for their enthusiasm and participation in all activities.

Check out our school dance off.
