A Busy September for St. Conleth & Mary’s

School Crest

We are all very happy to be back at school. September went by very quickly and lots of things have happened in St. Conleth and Mary’s. Swimming has started for Room 7 and 8. Under 11s football has started with Mr O’Brien and Mr Dooley. Ladies football has also begun training with Ms. Gill and Ms. O’Neill. The 2nd and 3rd classes are enjoying six sessions of Gaelic training with Moorefield. Gymnastics has also started for some classes. The remaining classes will begin gymnastics in the coming weeks.

We wore white into school on Friday the 23rd to support the Kildare Ladies Football team and were delighted to see them secure a one point win over Clare in the Intermediate All Ireland Final. The team came into our school on Monday the 26th to show us the cup and they gave us no homework. We were very proud of the whole team but especially of past pupils Molly Price, Roisin Byrne and Noelle Earley.

The 2nd and 6th classes have started going to Mass to prepare for their Communion and Confirmation ceremonies. We are also preparing for our beginning of the year school mass which is on Thursday the 6th of October at 1.45pm. All parents are welcome on the day. The choir has also started up again for the whole school on Thursdays at big break. They are preparing for Peace Proms in early 2017.

The school library is back up and running. All classes will attend the library each week to encourage all students of the school to become independent readers. The Book Fair will be coming before Christmas and we are very excited to see what new titles might be on offer.
