Our Trip to Lullymore

20171009_130539

On Mon. 9th Oct. Rm. 5 set off to The Bog of Allen Nature Centre, Lullymore. Our visit was funded by Kildare County Council as part of their Anti-Litter Initiative. It was a brilliant day. We learned lots about life in Irish homes long ago, Irish wildlife and the importance of the bogs. We went frog-hunting. We did pond dipping and identified our catch. We visited a greenhouse full of carnivorous plants, including the Sundew, our only native carnivorous plant. We walked out across the bog and made a ‘bog in a bottle’. All in all, we had an amazing time and learned to appreciate the wonderful resource the bog is.
